Cheung Kong Infrastructure
Holdings Ltd (CKI) has acquired and
subsequently privatised TransAlta
Power, LP, an energy company which
was formerly listed on the Toronto
Stock Exchange, in a deal worth CAD629
million (USD636 million). TransAlta
Power owns 49.99 per cent of TransAlta
Cogeneration, LP, which has interests in
five gas-fired power plants in Ontario,
Alberta and Saskatchewan and a coal-
fired generation station in Alberta. CKI’s
energy portfolio now spans Hong Kong,
Mainland China, the UK, Australia and
North America.

Nuance-Watson Hong Kong has opened a
Giorgio Armani Beauty Boutique at the Hong Kong
International Airport. The boutique is Armani’s first ever
travel retail outlet worldwide and the occasion was marked
by a superb make-up catwalk show. Like the boutique itself,
