HGC and TTC of Russia seal agreement on Trans-Europe-Asia data services
Leveraging the World's Shortest Intra-Continental Route to Bridge Asia & Europe

Hong Kong and Russia, 2 February 2005 - Hutchison Global Communications Limited ("HGC") and Company TransTeleCom Ltd. ("TTC") of Russia have reached a partnership agreement to jointly roll out international data services. The services will be provided via a highly reliable and speedy trans-Europe-Asia land cable platform.

Established in 1997, TTC is Russia's leading national carrier, operating the country's largest fibre optic communications network. HGC also owns the largest fibre-to-the-building network in Hong Kong. HGC is the first Hong Kong fixed telecommunications network services operator ("FTNS") to have forged tie of the same kind with TTC.

The joint provision of connectivity will be routed via the Europe-Russia-Mongolia-China ("ERMC") cable system managed by TTC and other leading carriers. This intra-continental route is currently the shortest land telecommunications route bridging Europe and Asia. The latency performance level of this land route is 30%-60% higher than other alternative submarine routings.

Both companies position the joint service as a premium product in their portfolios. The new connectivity offers bandwidths ranging from n x 64 Kbps to STM-1. This will be an ideal solution to meet the growing demand of middle-to-large enterprises who need high-speed, seamless and highly reliable business communications with geographically dispersed offices, business partners and customers spanning from Asia to Europe. Under this agreement, either company's customers can enjoy hassle-free one-stop-shop services, in addition to round-the-clock network monitoring and management.

"Economic cooperation between European and Asian countries is booming. Therefore, the market demands rapid telecommunications development. TTC is pleased to offer new range of telecom services of high potential for both Europe and Asia. We hope that our mutual cooperation with HGC will continuously grow", stated Andrew Semin-Vadov, Senior Vice President, Head of the Commercial Policies Department.

Andrew Kwok, Vice President - International Business at HGC, said, "We are proud to be the first FTNS in Hong Kong to have entered into an agreement on trans-Europe-Asia data services with TTC. This cooperation has further extended our geographical footprint and scope of services to Europe. This also enables HGC to make use of an additional alternative gateway to cater for customers' communications needs between Asia and Europe. The joint cooperation has further boosted HGC's position in the regional telecommunications market."

HGC has by far established seven overseas offices in Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and the US, and three representative offices in Mainland China - Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen. In addition, HGC has established connections with over 70 partners located in different parts of the globe. HGC is incessantly expanding its coverage on a worldwide basis. The solid business foundation enables HGC to well serve customers of all tiers, ranging from network carriers and multi-national corporations to small and medium enterprises.
