HIT receives Prestigious Award for Technology Innovation at
the First-ever Logistics Awards Hong Kong 2005

[23 November 2005 - Hong Kong] Hongkong International Terminals (HIT) has won the Technology Innovation Award at the Logistics Awards Hong Kong 2005, in recognition of its development and deployment of proprietary, state-of-the-art technologies which have improved supply chain efficiencies.

This award is an affirmation of HIT's outstanding contribution to logistics excellence in the sphere of technological innovation, a category which had been fiercely contested by a number of leading companies.

Commenting on HIT's success, Mr. Eric Ip, HIT Managing Director, said, "We are delighted to have received this highly-coveted award, which recognises the innovative work of our team." Mr. Ip further added, "We are fully committed to the continuous investment and development of in-house terminal management systems and productivity enhancement tools to further improve our operational productivity."

The deployment of the Next Generation Management System (nGen), Tractor Alignment System (AlignFlex®), Positioning Determination System (PDS) and Computer Simulation Model - Yard Model 3 (YM3) at HIT has substantively enhanced the competitiveness of Hong Kong Port.

Logistics Awards Hong Kong 2005 was organised by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong, the Hongkong Association of Freight Forwarding and Logistics, the Hong Kong Logistics Association, the Hong Kong Productivity Council and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
