Hutchison Max Telecom launches 'Just Talk' Prepaid Card from Orange

December 04, 2000: Hutchison Max Telecom Limited today announced the launch of its global brand Just Talk prepaid card from Orange for its customers in Mumbai.

Unveiling the Just Talk prepaid card, Mr. Sandip Das, Chief Executive Officer, Hutchison Max Telecom Limited, said, "We have decided to launch Just Talk prepaid card to extend the Orange brand experience to our prepaid customers. Like the many innovative features introduced by Orange, Just Talk too for the first time in Mumbai will offer powerful value added services like WAP and SMS to prepaid customers. As its simple name suggests, all consumers need to do is Just Talk"

Just Talk prepaid card from Orange will be a ready-to-talk, over the counter prepaid SIM card with one second billing. Just Talk gives the customers the benefit of instant connectivity through instant activation and has the advantage of minimal documentation and no security deposit, monthly charges etc.

Another unique convenience offered by Just Talk prepaid is the ease of refilling whereby a customer can buy refill slips available at general outlets across the city and manually refill value on Just Talk without visiting an Orange Shop.

Just Talk prepaid card from Orange will offer Mumbai customers a unique and exciting range of innovative service features that will enrich the functionality of the mobile phone to prepaid customers. The features include:

  • Smart Messaging Service (SMS)

  • Wireless Application Protocol (WAP)

Airtime rate at a new low - New Price Rs.4/-

As part of Orange's continued commitment to make cellular tariffing user friendly and affordable, Just Talk prepaid card from Orange will offer a reduced airtime rate of Rs 4 per minute from 9.00 am to 9.00 pm (Rs 3 per minute from 9.00 pm to 9.00 am). The offer will be applicable to the unused value on all existing prepaid cards.

Smart Messaging Service (SMS) - Send messages anywhere in the world for Rs.2/-

Orange will also extend its Smart Messaging Service (SMS) to Just Talk customers. They can use the facility to send messages to mobile users in the city and across the country/world. For using the facility, customers will need to pay Rs 2 for every message sent with no charges for incoming SMS messages.

Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) - Free WAP access

For the first time, Just Talk customers will be able to browse high quality content on news, finance, entertainment, city guides, shopping and travel by accessing Orangeworld, the most comprehensive mobile internet service launched in India. Within the 6 channels (5 more channels to be added shortly) offered by Orangeworld, the Just Talk customer will be able to select over 300 choices of content and services from over 50 content providers.

Orange 123 services will also be made available to Just Talk customers. The Orange 123 services provide on-line news update in business, sports, international, politics, weather, and pollution index. Moreover, information on entertainment, cricket scores, astrology, 24 - hour services for emergency services like ambulances, police, fire-brigade and bill payments are also covered.

Extended Validity

Just Talk prepaid card from Orange will also offer greater convenience through introducing a lower priced prepaid value of Rs. 500 with a validity of 15 days and also extend the validity period of the highest priced prepaid value of Rs 2,500 to 60 days from the existing level of 30 days.
