Citybase, Goodwell and Cheung Kong Centre Property Management Ltd., the property management companies under Cheung Kong (Holdings) Ltd., were awarded "Employers' Gold Star Award ¡V Platinum Award" (Citybase) and "Employers' Gold Star Awards" (Goodwell and Cheung Kong Centre) by the Employees Retraining Board (ERB) in recognition of their active participation in employee retraining programmes.
Ms. Katherine Hung, Executive Director of Cheung Kong (Holdings) Ltd. said, "Cheung Kong Group has always been very supportive of the Employees Retraining Scheme."
"Subsidaries of our Group have worked very closely with ERB to design and organize retraining programmes. We are very glad that our efforts in retraining have generated good results, and will continue to carry out our work in this area. Presently, the Group plans to retrain more middle management executives from other industries for property management jobs. We are confident that their previous working experience will be most valuable when applied to the field of property management," Ms. Hung expressed.
Citybase, Goodwell and Cheung Kong Centre are now managing the Group's residential, commercial and industrial premises with gross floor area of over 88 million square feet. More than 33 retraining classes have been launched since 1997 by the Cheung Kong property management companies. They include:
"Professional Security & Property Management Services"
"Maintenance Staff Training"
"Property Management Certificate Course"
"Management Service Assistant Training Program"
"Building Management Trainee Course for Prime Class Commercial Building"
Cheung Kong Group has employed over 550 retrainees. Three of them have been presented the "Outstanding Retrainee Award" and "Outstanding Retrainee-Merit Award" by Employees Retraining Board.
The Employees Retraining Board is an independent statutory body set up under the Employees Retraining Ordinance, 1992. Partly funded by the Hong Kong Government, ERB consists of a governing body comprising representatives from employers, employees, the government, and training institutions and manpower practitioners.
