| Cheung Kong Group, consisting
of Cheung Kong (Holdings) Ltd, Hutchison Whampoa Ltd, Cheung
Kong Infrastructure Holdings Ltd and Hongkong Electric Ltd,
has been named one of top five donors of Community Chest for
their financial year of 1998/1999. |

| Total Community Chest donations
generated by Cheung Kong Group amounted to HK$7.6 million during
the financial year. A large portion of this donation was brought
about by the "Cheung Kong Community Chest Donation Hotline"
which was organized in May. |

| At Community Chest's Annual
Award Presentation event held earlier, a six-foot high Chinese
couplet incorporating the Chinese characters Cheung Kong, and
a character of the Chinese names of Mr K S Li and Mr Victor
Li, Chairman and Deputy Chairman of Cheung Kong respectively
was presented by Mrs Betty H P Tung, President of The Community
Chest, to Mrs Katherine Hung, Executive Director of Cheung Kong
(Holdings) Ltd, as a gesture of appreciation of Cheung Kong
Group's effort launched for the charity organization. |

| At the Presentation event, Cheung
Kong's subsidiaries - Hongkong Electric Co Ltd, A S Watson &
Co Ltd, and Hutchison Telecommunications Ltd - have also been
presented with awards for their outstanding work carried out
in generating donations for The Community Chest. |
