Hutchison International Limited, under the leadership of its founder, Sir Douglas Clague, begins an acquisition programme which effectively gains control of AS Watson Company, Davie, Boag and Company Limited, Hongkong and Whampoa Dock Company Limited and China Provident Company Limited.
