Press release
Milan - February 25th, 2005

Just launched: 3 Power, the first "double faced" top up that
recharges your videophone with more value than what you pay.

The new 3 Power top up by 3 has a double value. In fact, starting from February 28th, clients will be able to choose between the standard top up or the super top up. You need only to scratch one of the two sides of the card to use the chosen option: the first gives a phone credit without any expiry, the second one offers clients up to 50% more services compared to the paid price, but must be used within the end of the calendar month in which the top up was made.

Three Super recharge versions are available: 15 euro provides 18 euro services (versus 11 euro with a standard recharge), 30 euro offers 40 euro of services (versus 25) while 60 euro offers services up to 90 euro (instead of 54).

With this revolutionary offer, 3 reaffirms its capability in bringing innovation, not only in the market proposition, but also in technologies: behind the Power top up, there's a very sophisticated information VMS (Voucher management System) platform which has been modified by 3 engineers to have, for the first time in the world, two kinds of top up on the same card.

Once more Claudio Amendola is with his daughters Alessia and Giulia to explain to Italians, in their cool and trendy lingo, the advantages of 3 Power, in a TV campaign valued, on air from the 6th to the 23rdof March.

March also brings TuaMAticPiù, the first tariff plan which allows to auto top up of the phone credit by receiving not only calls, but also- for the first time- videocalls, SMS, MMS and videomessages. Customers receive 5 cents for every minute of voice calls and videocalls received from other operators, and 2 cent for each SMS, MMS or videomessage received from other operators.

B.Smart is the innovation that 4 million of Italian companies have been waiting for: a new tariff plan that has voice calls and videocalls at 0 cent per minute. The 19 euro monthly fee includes 5 hours of calls and 5 hours of videocalls per week, with no cost on calls towards all the company's numbers, 3 network and fixed line numbers and webcams. For each voice or videocall there is a 12.5 cent set up fee. Voice and videocalls over the weekly traffic threshold have a per minute cost equal to 5 and 37.5 cents respectively.

Calls towards other national mobile operators and the PostOffice and InAzienda data traffic (up to 30 MB/week) are for free until July 31st 2005. After this day, voice calls towards other operators will cost 5 cent/min while videocalls will cost 87.5 cent/min.

Even more economical is 3's Fast Mobile Card that from February 28th will cost only 199 euro instead of the regular 399 euro. Until May 15th 3's Fast Mobile Card will also be available in leasing for only 49 euro. In both cases the Fast Mobile Card is matched with the Tre.Dati tariff plan that allows for 25MB of traffic daily through the 3 network for only 25 euro per month.

Also 3's catalogue of videophones is updated: LG U8180, Motorola V975 and Motorola C975 are the new entries in the list. To obtain one, until May 15th, one can choose between the Voglio 3 promotion with prices starting from 19 euro to lease, or purchase one outright with 3Subito starting from 119 euro with 20 euro of services included.

The successful VideoNoi, the option chosen by 450 thousand 3'clients, continues thus allowing customers to video communicate for only 5 cent per minute towards their chosen 3 number.

Finally, 3 has the largest UMTS national network providing the videocall and third generation services to over 74% of the population, almost 43 million Italians in over 1500 cities.

3 - Is the commercial brand of H3G, the mobile video company in the Italian market. After having won the UMTS license in Italy in November 2000, with the offer of 3,25 billion euros, 3 launched its service at the beginning of March 2003 and aimed for the leadership of the third generation mobile market. Among its shareholders are prominent leaders in Italy and the world, from the sectors of telecommunications, the Internet and new media, publishing and finance. Hutchison Whampoa Limited is the primary shareholder 89,32% of the authorized capital. The other shareholders include S. Paolo Imi, BMI, RCS Mediagroup, Gemina and Tiscali.
