(27 September 2006) Mobile media company 3 sponsored one of the most distinctive fringe events at this year's Labour party conference held on Monday night. In line with today's ever-increasing speed of communication 'The Fastest Fringe in Town', sponsored by 3, gave conference attendees the opportunity to grill politicians with questions which they had to answer within one minute.
The event, held in association with London Young Labour, was in its second year and the panel this year included:
- Rt. Hon Liam Byrne MP, Home Office Minister,
- Kitty Ussher MP
- Stephen Pound, MP
-
Peter White, Chair, London Young Labour
The 'Fastest Fringe' event is just one part of 3's ongoing activities during party conference season. The company is also sponsoring the Policy Exchange and the Spectator's 3rd Annual Quiz at the Conservative Party Conference in Bournemouth and the fringe guide for the Liberal Democrat party.
Tim Lord, Regulatory Director at 3, said: "The Fastest Fringe was a great way to open up debate at the Labour Party Conference to a wider audience, at the same time as putting some very pressing questions across to senior MPs in an interesting manner.
"This sponsorship activity is all part of 3's ongoing commitment to facilitating political debate across the UK. As a company that enables debate amongst thousands of people on a daily basis we see it as a natural extension to stimulate discussion amongst key UK policy formers."
