(Hong Kong, 25 June 2002) Hutchison 3G Ireland Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hutchison Whampoa Limited, has been awarded licence A (2 x 15 MHz paired and 1 x 5 MHz unpaired spectrum) in the Republic of Ireland 3G licence bid process.

Canning Fok, Group Managing Director of Hutchison Whampoa Limited commented, "We are very pleased to have been awarded the A licence and look forward to developing a leading 3G business in the Republic of Ireland."
