H3G:
Reggiana and Reggina exclusive UMTS rights

Rome, 16 March 2001 - H3G, the first mobile multimedia operator of the Italian market, signed an agreement with Reggiana and Reggina for the exclusive UMTS rights ofthe two soccer teams.

The leadership of H3G in the sports-related entertainment UMTS platform is consolidated thanks to these agreements. Reggina and Reggiana join Juventus, Milan, Bari, Genoa, Salernitana, which have chosen H3G as exclusive partner for the transmission of images on third generation mobile phone.

These agreements not only potentially involve more then 21 million fans in Italy, but they also represent the first business examples in the world developed by the UMTS standard.

Thanks to these exclusive rights, H3G's UMTS clients will be able to see on their devices in "near live" the goals of their favorite soccer teams one minute after the goal action.

At the end of the football match, it will be possible to see the "Highlight" of the game, the goals and the best actions.


H3G is going to be the first Multimedia Mobile Operator in Italy. After having won the uMTS license in November with the name Andala with an offer of 6300 billion lire, H3G now aims to become the leader in the third generation mobile market. Its shareholders are Italian and international key players in communication, Internet, new media, publishing and banking. Hutchinson Whampoa Limited is the majority shareholder with the 78.3% of the equity capital. The others shareholders are CIR (12.9%), S.Paolo IMI (5%), BMI (2%), HDP (1%), Gemina (0.5%) and Tiscali (0.3%).
