[Shanghai - 1 June 2001] Shanghai Container Terminals (SCT) has recently been honoured in the second China Freight Industry Awards (CFIA) with four awards, namely, "Best Container Port - Comprehensive Services", "Best Container Port - Up-to-date Scientific Managing Level", "Best Container Port - Transport Network", and "Excellent Container Port - Highly Efficient Operations". SCT also won the first two awards in the first CFIA in 1999.

Mr. Henry Wah, General Manager of SCT said, "We would like to thank all our customers for their continuous support. We will carry on with the effort for the betterment of SCT."

SCT is jointly invested by Hutchison Port Holdings and Shanghai Port Authority.

In 2000, SCT achieved an annual container throughput of 2.9 million TEUs, up 14% from the previous year. The outstanding performance of SCT has contributed to Shanghai Port's rising to the 6th position among all container ports around world.
