Hutchison 3G selects Starbase Collaboration Suite for network development

London - April 25, 2002, Hutchison 3G UK Limited ('Hutchison 3G'), today announced that it has selected the Starbase Collaboration Suite from Starbase (Nasdaq: SBAS) to manage the development of its third generation network. The solution has been deployed in the UK and in other countries in Europe where Hutchison Whampoa has 3G interests.

Hutchison 3G's initial purchase of Starbase's Collaboration Suite will manage the software requirements, configuration, change management, defect tracking, testing and test management for the mobile, telephony and information for the voice and data systems that make up the 3G standard.

Ed Candy, technology director at Hutchison 3G said, "It was important to choose a supplier with a robust and proven technology. Starbase has an excellent reputation. It has the scalability and flexibility required to provide this important piece of software for our network."
