"We chose Vitaminic as a partner for the launch of the musical services for our customers because of its great experience in the field of digital music distribution, especially via mobile telephony," said Francesco Busdraghi, H3G's Business Development Director. "The next generation mobile terminals exploit the potential of UMTS, and that's why they are an ideal instrument for a totally new musical experience. "According to Jupiter MMXI analysts, mobile music services and content will become one of the main killer applications for the spreading of next generation mobile telephony terminals", states Andrea Rosi, Chief Operating Officer at Vitaminic SpA. "We are pleased with the agreement signed with H3G, a leading company in the development of radiomobile networks. Moreover, the agreement, which is part of the Vitaminic's business strategy providing integrated mobile telephony and Internet solutions to the main telecommunication operators in Italy and Europe, is aimed at evaluating the impact of broadband wireless technology on music lovers."

About H3G

Upon obtaining a UMTS license in Italy in November 2000, with an offer of 3,253 million Euro, H3G is now aiming at becoming the first Multimedia Mobile Operator of the Italian market. Hutchison Whampoa is the majority shareholder with 88.2% of the corporate capital, and is joined by first-rate Italian and international players in telecommunications, Internet and new media, publishing and banking, like S. Paolo Imi, CIR, HDP, BMI, Gemina and Tiscali.
3 will be the global name for Hutchison Whampoa's third-generation services. The Group holds 3G licences in Australia, Austria, Denmark, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Sweden and the UK.
The name should always appear as '3', with the exception of website addresses, where it is written as a word in the relevant language (e.g. www.three.co.uk).
3G is a convergence of media, information and communication which enables access to a range of services on the move. The 3G standard (agreed throughout Europe, Japan, China, and the rest of Asia) is formally known as UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System). It represents a global standard for third-generation communication systems and is at the heart of the H3G initiative.
