• In January, Hutchison Water International Holdings Pte. Limited owns 49% of the Sorek desalination plant located in Israel. The Sorek plant is a 150 million cubic meters per year reverse osmosis sea water desalination plant, and is one of the world's leading plants of its kind.

  • In March, Hutchison Port Holdings executes the establishment and IPO of HPH Trust on the Main Board of the Singapore Exchange. Initial principal assets of HPH Trust include the Group's interests in the deep-water container ports in Hong Kong and Yantain.

  • In May, 3 Ireland announces a EUR38 million contract with BT. The roll-out of the new fibre network will allow higher broadband speeds enabling 3 to deliver up to 100Mb per second to facilitate the demands of data-savvy Irish consumers.

  • In August, the New South Wales Government of Australia announced that Hutchison Port Holdings has been appointed operator of the Enfield Intermodal Logistics Centre.

  • In September, 3 Austria completes its HSPA+ network upgrade with 3G network coverage covering 94 per cent of the population and speeds up to 42Mbps.

  • In September, Vodafone and certain members of the Conexus Mobile Alliance, including Hutchison Telecom Hong Kong, agreed to form a strategic alliance. Hutchison Telecom Hong Kong will become the preferred non-equity partner of Vodafone in Hong Kong in roaming and global corporate sales services.

  • In October, a consortium led by Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings Limited (CKI) has completed the acquisition of Northumbrian Water Group plc (Northumbrian). The consortium's members include CKI, Cheung Kong (Holdings) Limited and the Li Ka Shing Foundation. Northumbrian operates a water supply, sewerage and waste water business in the United Kingdom.

  • In October, Hutchison Port Holdings has signed an agreement with Ajman Port Authority that paves the way for the development and operation of Ajman Port for a concession period of 10 years in the United Arab Emirates.

  • In December, AS Watson Group announced that its flagship brand Watsons Your Personal Store opened its 1,000th store in Mainland China.
